The COVID pandemic caused severe financial hardships for many families in Central Florida. The Salvation Army Orlando has been on the front lines serving those in need. Over the past twelve months, The Salvation Army Orlando has provided over 1.4 million meals and 81,000 bed nights. The Junkluggers Orlando is extremely privileged to help support these efforts by donating items to The Salvation Army and by sponsoring a gala to celebrate their 100th year of serving the community.
Did you know that items donated to The Salvation Army Orlando are sold in The Salvation Army Thrift Stores? Revenues generated support the Adult Rehabilitation Center. The Adult Rehabilitation Center provides a no-cost six-month recovery program for those struggling with alcohol or drug addiction. Because of this wonderful work, many have gone from sleeping under Interstate 4 to leading productive lives. Some other examples of how The Salvation Army Orlando Area Command has helped the local community are: senior assistance by providing 293 one-bedroom/one-bathroom affordable apartments to 319 low-income senior citizens, and providing shelter to men, women, and children as well as case management and social counseling services.
The Junkluggers of Orlando is proud to have a partner like The Salvation Army Orlando to help do “the most good” in our community.
